Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Criticalist on either a full-time or part-time basis. This 24/7 specialty and emergency hospital provides advanced care for cats and dogs and is looking for a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist to join its established Critical Care team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Criticalist, you will provide advanced critical care for a wide range of emergency and critically ill patients while collaborating with fellow specialists, referring veterinarians, and clients. Your responsibilities include delivering 24/7 monitoring and ICU care, managing acute organ failure and sepsis, advanced fluid therapy, CPR and post-arrest care, dialysis and apheresis, trauma care, high-flow nasal oxygen therapy, hemodialysis and blood purification, mechanical ventilation, post-surgical recovery with individually tailored pain control, respiratory support, stabilization and shock resuscitation, toxicity and poison ingestion management, and transfusions. The role also offers the opportunity to mentor rotating interns, specialty interns, and residents. This opportunity is suited to experienced veterinarians who are board-certified or residency-trained.

Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited hospital provides 24/7 emergency care alongside specialty services in Anesthesia, Cardiology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radiology, Rehabilitation, and Surgery. The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with high-flow oxygen, mechanical ventilation, MR imaging, hemoperfusion, hemodialysis, apheresis, electrochemotherapy, and immunotherapy, providing the technology and clinical support needed to deliver advanced patient care. The hospital has performed more than 300 extracorporeal therapy procedures. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 356 days a year.

Team
The hospital has 41 DVMs and a great tenured support team. You will work alongside experienced Critical Care specialists, well-trained technicians, medical leaders, and an energetic group of rotating interns, specialty interns, and residents in a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional specialty and emergency care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
