Introduction
Our client is a specialty and emergency hospital hiring a Veterinary Criticalist. A board-certified or residency-trained Criticalist will be supported by advanced medicine, technology, facilities, and a highly skilled team. The environment empowers clinicians to perform their best work with reliable support. The hospital includes Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Neurology, and Emergency & Critical Care services, and features a state-of-the-art facility with the latest diagnostic equipment. The hospital is AAHA accredited and provides access to a broad network of specialists.

Working Hours / Rota
The position offers full and part-time availability. The hospital is located in the west San Fernando Valley area of Southern California, just northwest of Los Angeles.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Criticalist will work within a comprehensive Emergency & Critical Care department. Available capabilities include aggressive analgesia, cardiac output monitoring, central venous pressure monitoring, continuous ECG monitoring and telemetry, direct blood pressure monitoring, nasal and transtracheal oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, end tidal capnography, transfusion therapy, and trauma care. The role operates within a multi-specialty environment including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Neurology, Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Anesthesiology, and Counseling.

Practice Details
The hospital offers extensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities including interventional radiology with C-arm and Stortz ureteroscope, a 64-slice CT, 1.5 T MRI, digital ultrasound, a wide array of flexible and rigid endoscopes, telemetry, digital radiography, and a complete in-house laboratory. The facility is AAHA accredited and provides emergency, critical, and urgent care for dogs and cats, as well as internal medicine, oncology, and surgery services. The hospital is situated in the San Fernando Valley/Santa Monica Mountains area, with proximity to Malibu beaches and Los Angeles attractions.

Team
The hospital employs 14 DVMs and 56 support staff, including 25 RVTs.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
