Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Veterinary Criticalist. The hospital provides advanced specialty and referral care for cats and dogs and is looking for an experienced clinician to join its collaborative multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice alongside board-certified specialists in a state-of-the-art environment focused on delivering gold-standard patient care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Criticalist will manage complex and critically ill patients while working closely with specialists across multiple disciplines to deliver comprehensive care. The role involves collaborating with services including surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, oncology, rehabilitation, behavioural medicine, and reproductive medicine to provide advanced treatment and exceptional patient outcomes. This opportunity is suited to an experienced Veterinary Criticalist looking to work in a highly collaborative specialty environment. There are no after-hours or on-call responsibilities.
Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, and is closed on Sundays. The practice is a large, state-of-the-art specialty centre that is expanding in 2026 with an additional 8,000 square feet of treatment space, a new operating room, six additional exam rooms, a dedicated CT room, and upgrades to its in-house laboratory. The hospital works closely with a 24/7 inpatient and emergency care facility located on the same campus, ensuring continuous patient support. Services include surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, behavioural medicine, diagnostic imaging, physical rehabilitation, reproductive medicine, and 24/7 emergency services. The practice offers a collaborative environment where specialists utilise advanced diagnostic equipment and techniques to deliver comprehensive, gold-standard veterinary care.
Team
You will join a team of 5 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team. The hospital fosters a collaborative culture where experienced specialists, technicians, and support staff work together to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care while supporting each other’s professional growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
