Our client is a Specialty and Emergency Hospital for Cats and Dogs that is hiring a Medical Veterinary Criticalist on either a full-time or part-time basis. Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Veterinary Criticalist will be responsible for providing the full scope of critical care responsibilities within a busy specialty and emergency hospital environment. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is board certified or residency trained and enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, committed to maintaining a positive and professional hospital culture, and interested in community outreach and relationship building. Flexible scheduling is available for this position. The hospital places a strong emphasis on continuous learning and professional development, with daily case rounds held each morning to encourage collaboration, case discussion, and shared clinical knowledge. Regular continuing education opportunities are also provided to support ongoing growth and advancement within the specialty field.
Practice Details
The hospital operates a fully equipped and staffed ER and ICU alongside a range of specialty services including Surgery, Neurology, Orthopedics, Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Emergency services. The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including but not limited to ultrasound, digital x-ray, CT imaging, and endoscopy equipment, allowing specialists to manage complex and advanced cases within a modern clinical setting. Hospital hours include Internal Medicine operating Monday through Thursday from 7:00am to 5:00pm, Neurology operating Tuesday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm, Oncology operating Monday and Tuesday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, alongside a fully operational 24/7 Emergency service. The hospital environment is designed to support collaboration across departments while providing veterinarians with the tools, resources, and clinical support needed to deliver high quality specialty and emergency care.
Team
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, internists, oncologists, cardiology, radiology, a clinical pathologist, and emergency clinicians, working within a culture that prioritizes collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth. The practice maintains a high technician-to-doctor ratio, ensuring strong support for veterinarians and allowing for efficient workflow and high standards of patient care. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
