Our client is a 24/7 veterinary hospital in Solano County, California, seeking a Veterinary Criticalist to join their established and growing team. For more than 20 years, this hospital has served Solano and Napa counties with a strong client base and a reputation for excellence in emergency and specialty care. Strategically located near San Francisco, Napa Valley, Davis, and Sacramento, the hospital is well-positioned to provide advanced critical care to the community.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering around-the-clock emergency and critical care services. The role provides full-time scheduling within a collaborative, multi-doctor environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Criticalist will play a key role in developing and shaping the hospital’s ICU, including input into equipment selection, workflow design, and clinical protocols. Responsibilities include providing advanced emergency and critical care, performing and interpreting complex diagnostic procedures, and collaborating with veterinarians, RVTs, and assistants to ensure the highest standard of patient care. This role is designed for a diplomate or practice-limited Criticalist who thrives in a dynamic environment and seeks to make a lasting impact in a busy, team-focused specialty hospital.

Practice Details
The hospital is fully equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including onsite CT and endoscopy. With plans to expand specialty services in 2026, the practice is dedicated to continuous growth and advancement. The facility provides advanced emergency and critical care services, supported by cutting-edge technology and a highly skilled team.

Team
The hospital is home to eight DVMs supported by registered veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. The environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with a strong culture of communication, idea-sharing, and mutual support during challenging cases, ensuring high-quality care for patients and a positive workplace for staff.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
