Introduction
Our client is a premier multi-specialty referral and emergency hospital on Long Island seeking a full-time Veterinary Criticalist to join their team. The hospital provides advanced emergency and specialty care for cats and dogs, serving Suffolk County, Nassau County, and the wider region, with a strong reputation for excellence in both medicine and client service.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This is a full-time position within the critical care service, which includes overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage as part of the schedule to ensure continuity of patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Criticalist will be responsible for leading and expanding the hospital’s critical care services, managing complex emergency cases, and collaborating with a skilled team of ER veterinarians and board-certified specialists across multiple disciplines. The role requires experience in emergency and critical care medicine, with a focus on advanced diagnostics, stabilization, and comprehensive treatment of critical patients. This opportunity is suited for an experienced Criticalist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools including in-house laboratories, diagnostic ultrasound, MRI, CT scan, fluoroscopy, and a fully outfitted rehabilitation department. With a progressive, team-oriented culture, the hospital offers specialty services in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, dermatology, and rehabilitation alongside emergency and critical care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
