Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing advanced specialty and emergency veterinary care and is currently hiring a Veterinary Cardiologist. The hospital operates as a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral center, offering an environment designed to support clinicians in practicing high-level medicine with access to extensive diagnostic and treatment resources.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The role sits within a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral setting, supporting continuous patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Cardiologist will be responsible for comprehensive patient examinations and detailed medical work-ups, with a strong focus on the evaluation and management of heart conditions. Responsibilities include client communication and education, maintaining accurate medical records, and managing pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications while adhering to controlled substance protocols. The role also involves promoting teamwork and staff efficiency, working closely with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations, and evaluating and monitoring protocols related to the daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge. The cardiologist will monitor hospitalized cases, attend daily rounds when possible to ensure the highest standards of care are upheld, participate in practice management updates and training at all levels, and perform other duties as assigned by management. Candidates must be board certified or residency trained in cardiology.

Practice Details
The hospital is a 16,000-square-foot specialty and emergency facility equipped to support advanced medical and surgical care. Diagnostic capabilities include ultrasound, C-Arm, 64-slice CT, MRI, and two digital radiology suites, with additional support from skilled radiologists for image interpretation and recommendations. Cardiology-specific diagnostics include echocardiography, electrocardiography, radiographic evaluation, and blood pressure measurement. The facility also features in-house laboratories, a specialized pharmacy, a dedicated emergency and critical care treatment area, and three fully equipped surgical suites with advanced anesthesia and monitoring equipment.

Team
The team includes eight DVMs working within a collaborative specialty and emergency environment. The hospital structure supports multidisciplinary cooperation, with veterinarians and support staff working closely together to deliver high-quality, referral-level patient care around the clock.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
