Providing advanced care for dogs and cats, the hospital operates as an academic veterinary center with a strong teaching culture, bringing Cardiology together with multiple other specialty disciplines and round-the-clock Emergency and Critical Care. Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of Veterinary Cardiology responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to manage a varied referral caseload across the diagnosis, medical management and interventional treatment of cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary disease. You’ll work closely with the hospital’s existing Cardiology service while collaborating with specialists across Internal Medicine, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology and Emergency & Critical Care when patients would benefit from a multidisciplinary approach. The hospital’s teaching environment is also an important part of the opportunity, with a strong rotating internship Programme, dedicated Cardiology specialty interns and visiting extern students creating plenty of scope to share your knowledge and contribute to clinical education. This opportunity is suited to a board-certified or residency-trained Cardiologist.

Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides Emergency & Critical Care alongside Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging and Oncology. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, Echocardiography, Electrocardiography, Continuous ECG Monitoring and Telemetry, Digital Radiography, CT and Fluoroscopy, alongside a state-of-the-art ICU and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic Cardiology equipment. The wider hospital also provides capabilities including urethral and tracheal stenting, advanced cancer care and orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, giving the Cardiology service immediate access to a broad multidisciplinary clinical environment when cases require input from another specialty.

Team
You’ll be joining an established Cardiology service with two board-certified Cardiologists, within a much larger team of specialists, Emergency clinicians, interns, Registered Veterinary Technicians and dedicated specialty support professionals. The wider hospital brings together clinicians across Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery and Emergency & Critical Care, creating plenty of opportunity to discuss complex cases and work collaboratively rather than managing referral patients in isolation. The hospital’s academic focus adds another dimension to the team, with rotating interns, Cardiology specialty interns and extern students all contributing to an environment where teaching, learning and sharing knowledge are genuinely part of everyday clinical practice.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
