Introduction
Our client is a leading 24/7 Emergency and Specialty hospital in Commerce, Michigan is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Cardiologist on a full or part-time basis, to join its growing multidisciplinary team. The hospital provides advanced veterinary care for dogs and cats across Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Neurology & Neurosurgery and Surgery, with the addition of Cardiology further expanding its specialty capabilities. The position provides the opportunity to develop a Cardiology caseload within an established referral environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Cardiologist will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management of patients presenting with cardiovascular disease, developing individualized diagnostic and treatment plans and communicating findings and recommendations effectively with clients and referring veterinarians. The role will involve managing a dedicated Cardiology caseload while working collaboratively with colleagues across Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Neurology & Neurosurgery and Surgery, providing opportunities for multidisciplinary consultation and coordinated management of complex patients. The successful candidate will be board-certified or residency-trained in Veterinary Cardiology and will contribute to the continued development of Cardiology within the hospital.

Practice Details
The hospital operates as a 24/7 Emergency and Specialty facility, serving more than 10,000 patients each year and acting as an extension of care for referring family veterinarians throughout Southeast Michigan. Specialty services currently include Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Surgery and Urgent Care, with Cardiology being added through this position. The hospital provides the advanced clinical environment and technology required to investigate and manage complex referral and Emergency cases, with patients able to access Emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week without an appointment.

Team
The hospital currently has an established 11-veterinarian team, led clinically by a Medical Director and supported by a Hospital Director and wider technical, clinical and client service teams. The doctor roster includes veterinarians dedicated to Emergency Medicine, a board-certified Criticalist, a board-certified Neurologist and specialist surgical expertise, including a board-certified Veterinary Surgeon. The incoming Cardiologist will join this established multidisciplinary environment as the hospital expands its specialty offering, working closely with Emergency and specialty colleagues on referred and complex cases.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
