Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a Veterinary Anesthesiologist. The hospital is located in the suburban Philadelphia area and has been a preferred specialty and emergency provider for companion animals since 1986. It operates within a renovated 25,000 square foot facility equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. The hospital concentrates on specialty and emergency cases across anesthesiology, behavioral medicine, cardiology, critical care, dentistry, dermatology, emergency, internal medicine, minimally invasive surgery, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, radiology including CT, MRI, and I-131, and surgery. The hospital has recently partnered with a network of veterinarian-led hospitals throughout Connecticut, Maine, and Massachusetts to support high-level care across the region.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position, with the hospital open for appointments seven days a week. The schedule offers structured hours within a supportive and well-staffed specialty environment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Anesthesiologist is responsible for providing advanced anesthesia care for companion animals across a variety of specialty and emergency services. This includes developing individualized anesthetic protocols, performing pre-anesthetic evaluations, monitoring patients throughout anesthetic procedures, and managing postoperative recovery. The role involves supervising and supporting anesthesia delivery for routine and complex surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. Responsibilities typically include pain management planning, oversight of anesthesia technicians, responding to anesthesia-related emergencies, and collaborating with specialty clinicians to ensure safe and effective patient care. This position requires the expertise of a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained anesthesiologist.
