Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital based in Knoxville who are seeking to hire an Associate Veterinarian. This is a general practice clinic providing care for cats and dogs, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality veterinary services in a supportive and client-centered environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The practice is open from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and is closed on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There are no after-hours or emergency responsibilities. The hospital offers flexibility with scheduling and is open to either full-time or part-time arrangements to suit the right candidate’s needs.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for general practice duties, including wellness exams, dental care, vaccinations, behavioural consultations, dermatology, soft tissue procedures, diagnostics, and spay and neuter surgeries. The clinic welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, offering an opportunity to grow and practice high-quality medicine with mentorship and autonomy.

Practice Details
The clinic is equipped with x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory capabilities, and more. It provides a comprehensive range of services, including wellness care, diagnostics, dental and surgical procedures, and dermatology. The practice culture emphasizes high standards of care, professional support, and minimal administrative red tape.

Team
The clinic currently has one DVM, and the incoming Associate Veterinarian will be the second. The team is supported by a dedicated staff, and the work environment is collaborative, with a focus on mentorship and shared growth.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
