Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a full-service, AAHA-accredited veterinary practice in Wooster, Ohio, seeking an experienced Urgent Care or Emergency Veterinarian. The hospital treats a variety of small animals, including cats, dogs, and other household pets, and provides comprehensive care encompassing urgent care, specialty surgery, wellness exams, vaccinations, surgery, dental care, laser therapy, diagnostics, and more.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 10:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 10:00pm, and Sunday from 11:00am to 7:00pm. The role requires availability for Friday evenings and weekend urgent care shifts, with flexible scheduling options. There are no overnight or on-call shifts specified. This position is part-time, with scheduling flexibility to support work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will diagnose, perform surgery, and treat patients while maintaining excellent client communication and accurate medical records. The role includes setting standards of care and protocols, mentoring team members, collaborating with the practice manager on operational management, and leading aspects of the practice team. Candidates should be proficient in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills, and capable of handling fast-paced and high-stress situations. The position is suitable for experienced veterinarians with urgent care or emergency medicine expertise.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with modern facilities and in-house diagnostics, including radiology and laser therapy. Services offered include urgent care, after-hours emergency, specialty surgery, wellness exams, vaccinations, microchipping, geriatric visits, behavior and nutrition management, and dental care. The hospital has earned Cat Friendly Practice Gold status from the AAFP and emphasizes medical excellence, client-focused service, and a collaborative, supportive culture.

Team
The hospital has five DVMs supported by a trained veterinary team. The environment is collaborative, mentoring-focused, and committed to professional development through structured mentorship programs and RACE-approved clinical tracks.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
