Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary practice located in West Jefferson, Ohio, seeking a Part-Time Urgent Care Veterinarian. The hospital treats a variety of small animals, including dogs and cats, and is expanding its services to include urgent care while continuing to offer preventative medicine, surgery, laser therapy, dentistry, and microchipping.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm, and Sunday from 9:00am to 9:00pm for urgent care services. This role follows a weekend urgent care schedule with rotating Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am to 9:00pm. There are no overnight, holiday, or on-call shifts. The position is part-time with flexibility in scheduling.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will provide high-quality, fast-paced care, diagnosing, performing surgery, and treating patients. Responsibilities include maintaining excellent client communication, recording accurate medical information, reviewing medical records with clients, mentoring team members, setting standards of care, and collaborating with the practice manager on administrative and operational tasks. Candidates should have at least one year of DVM experience, with urgent care or emergency experience preferred.

Practice Details
The hospital is undergoing renovations to expand exam rooms from five to eight, enlarge DVM office space, and add new surgical and wet tables, as well as a dedicated surgery prep area. Services offered include preventative medicine, wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, surgery, microchipping, radiology, and laser therapy. The hospital emphasizes medical excellence, patient-focused care, and a collaborative, supportive team culture.

Team
The hospital has a team of five DVMs supported by experienced veterinary technicians and assistants. The environment is collaborative and mentoring-focused, with structured mentorship programs and access to clinical tracks for continuing education and professional growth.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
