Introduction
A dedicated veterinary urgent care hospital in Tucson, Arizona is seeking an Urgent Care Associate Veterinarian to join its three-doctor team. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys hands-on, fast-paced medicine while maintaining a structured schedule without overnight shifts. Whether you are an experienced urgent care clinician or a confident general practitioner looking to transition into urgent care with strong support, this role offers variety, clinical challenge, and meaningful same-day impact within a collaborative environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates seven days a week from 10:00am to 10:00pm. This position can be full-time or part-time, with ideal availability Thursday through Monday. The schedule is designed to provide consistency and balance, with no overnight or on-call responsibilities.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Associate Veterinarian will focus exclusively on same-day urgent cases, including lacerations, gastrointestinal presentations, minor trauma, wound management, toxicity cases, and other non-life-threatening conditions requiring prompt intervention. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and same-day procedures while maintaining clear and empathetic communication with pet owners. You will work closely with a skilled technical team to ensure efficient case flow and high standards of patient care. The role offers autonomy in clinical decision-making while encouraging collaboration and mentorship within the doctor team.
Practice Details
The hospital is purpose-built for urgent care medicine and equipped with digital radiography, in-house diagnostics, advanced anesthesia monitoring, and modern treatment areas that support procedural efficiency. The workflow is designed to manage urgent presentations effectively without the intensity of overnight emergency services. The practice prioritises quality medicine, practical case management, and a supportive clinical culture without unnecessary administrative barriers.
Team
You will join a three-veterinarian team supported by experienced technicians and client service staff who understand the demands of urgent care medicine. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
