Job Description
Introduction
This modern veterinary hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking a full-time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join its clinical team. The position combines urgent care with general practice, providing same-day and next-day treatment for dogs and cats with a broad range of medical concerns. The hospital uses a technology-led urgent care model with structured workflows and strong clinical support, allowing veterinarians to focus closely on diagnosis, treatment planning and client communication.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Sunday from 10:00am to 8:00pm. This position follows a four-day working week consisting of four 10-hour shifts, with rotating weekend coverage. The workflow is designed to help veterinarians complete their clinical responsibilities within their scheduled hours while maintaining consistent patient care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Urgent Care Veterinarian, you’ll manage a varied caseload across both urgent care and general practice, providing examinations, diagnostic work-ups and treatment plans for patients requiring timely medical attention. Cases commonly include allergic reactions, gastrointestinal illness, ear and eye conditions, dermatological concerns, wounds and lacerations, lameness, respiratory disease, toxin ingestion and urinary issues. You’ll work closely with a dedicated support team while maintaining clear communication with clients throughout each patient’s care.
Practice Details
The hospital is a modern facility specifically designed around efficient general practice and urgent care workflows. Each veterinarian is supported by approximately four to six team members, including dedicated assistance with medical records, allowing doctors to spend more time focused on patients and clients. The facility includes modern diagnostic technology such as digital radiography and ultrasound, with Fear Free techniques incorporated where possible.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
