Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their team, working with dogs and cats on a part-time basis. This is an opportunity to practice high-quality medicine in a modern, collaborative environment with a strong focus on work-life balance and patient care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will be responsible for managing a variety of urgent and same-day cases, performing thorough diagnostic workups, and delivering appropriate treatment plans. Responsibilities include client communication, case management, and ensuring high standards of patient care in a fast-paced setting. The role may also involve surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine cases as needed, while working closely with a supportive team to ensure continuity of care. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is confident handling urgent care cases and values collaboration.
Practice Details
The hospital is a modern, full-service facility equipped with advanced technology including surgical and therapy lasers, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, echocardiography, and endoscopy. Services offered include surgery, dental care, internal medicine, emergency care, nutritional consults, hospice and euthanasia, laser therapy, and acupuncture. The practice emphasizes high-quality medicine, mentorship, and a collaborative culture, supported by a strong staff-to-doctor ratio. The schedule for this role is weekend-based, totaling 16–18 hours across Saturday and Sunday, with the last appointment by 3:30 pm and no late nights or on-call shifts. The hospital operates Monday to Wednesday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Thursday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and is closed on Sundays, with closures on major holidays.
Team
The team consists of 4 DVMs and a great tenured support team, with a 3:1 staff-to-doctor ratio that fosters a highly collaborative and well-supported working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
