Introduction
A long-standing, AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Phoenix, Arizona is looking to add an experienced Urgent Care Veterinarian as it expands urgent care coverage. This is a busy, established general practice that has recently introduced urgent care services and is now building toward seven-day availability. The hospital has served its community for more than 25 years and offers the clinical depth and infrastructure to support meaningful urgent care medicine without feeling under-resourced. If you enjoy fast-paced casework and want the backing of a stable team and a fully equipped facility, this is a role where you can focus on good medicine and strong client service.

Working Hours / Rota
This role is primarily afternoons and evenings, with an ideal rota of Monday through Thursday to provide consistency and work-life balance. There is also optional weekend coverage around one weekend per month to support shared team scheduling and ensure the other urgent care doctor can reliably take a full weekend off. The structure is designed to deliver dependable urgent care access while keeping the rota sustainable.

Role Description and Responsibilities
You will manage same-day and time-sensitive presentations that need prompt assessment and treatment, bridging the gap between routine general practice and referral emergency care. Day-to-day work will include performing urgent examinations, creating diagnostic and treatment plans, interpreting in-house lab results and imaging, stabilising patients, and coordinating appropriate follow-up with primary care or referral as needed. Clear, confident communication with clients is central to the role, particularly around options, expectations, and aftercare. You will work closely with the wider clinical team to keep workflow efficient and patient care consistent, maintaining high standards while operating at urgent care pace.

Practice Details
This is a 6,000-square-foot, free-standing hospital with modern capability to support urgent care work in-house. The clinic is equipped with in-house lab testing, digital radiography, ultrasound, and EKG, alongside two dedicated dental suites, therapeutic laser therapy, a two-bay surgery suite, and a large treatment area designed for efficient case flow. AAHA accreditation underpins the hospital’s focus on quality systems, safety, and consistent medical standards, which translates into a well-organised environment for clinicians and support staff.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
