Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Urgent Care Veterinarian. The hospital blends walk-in urgent care with wellness and preventative services, creating a diverse and dynamic medical environment. They provide high-quality emergency medicine, surgery, and preventative care for pets across Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities and have earned strong trust within the local population.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is closed on Sunday.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will practice a broad range of medicine, managing a complex caseload that includes both routine wellness visits and walk-in urgent care needs. Clinical responsibilities include emergency procedures, preventative care, advanced surgical procedures, and developing comprehensive and integrative treatment plans. Conditions seen include gastrointestinal upset, bloated abdomen, constipation, dehydration, skin and coat issues, wounds and injuries, limping, overgrown nails, scooting, ocular issues, ear infections, pale gums, appetite changes, respiratory symptoms, parasites, urinary issues, toxin ingestion, and foreign body ingestion. The role is supported by access to specialty consultations and diagnostic resources.
Practice Details
Equipment includes blood and lab tests, X-rays, tonometry, and ultrasound. Facilities support walk-in urgent care, wellness care, advanced care, and surgical procedures. Services offered include urgent care, wellness and prevention, testing and diagnostics, advanced care, and surgical procedures. The hospital also offers alternative medicine options such as acupuncture through a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist to support integrative treatment plans.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
