Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital that provides care for cats and dogs and is hiring an Urgent Care Veterinarian in order to expand into weekend urgent care services. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian with confidence in urgent care or general practice medicine.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will provide urgent and urgent-to-primary veterinary care for a broad caseload, including trauma, acute illness, lacerations, and urgent soft-tissue procedures. Responsibilities include triaging and stabilizing emergency patients, performing diagnostics such as radiographs and point-of-care lab work, and clearly communicating treatment plans and prognoses to clients. The role also involves coordinating with the weekday primary care team to ensure continuity of care and follow-up treatment, while maintaining accurate medical records, upholding quality standards, and following hospital protocols. Weekend urgent care coverage is a key focus of the position. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian with strong clinical and diagnostic skills and confidence in urgent care or general practice medicine.

Practice Details
The hospital operates Monday and Friday from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm for ER and urgent care services. The practice is equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and digital dental X-ray, but is not limited to these resources. Services offered include orthopedics and a full scope of urgent care services, alongside acupuncture and nutritional counselling.

Team
The hospital currently has a team of 4 DVMs supported by a strong and well-tenured support staff team who contribute to the day-to-day success of the hospital and patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
