Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their three-doctor team in Morris, Illinois. The practice provides compassionate, high-quality care for dogs and cats, serving its established client base with a strong focus on low-stress handling and fear-free techniques. This role is centered on urgent care cases, offering the opportunity to practice efficient, high-quality medicine without the demands of a full emergency setting.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm, with Sundays closed. This position focuses on urgent care cases within the hospital’s regular operating hours.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will manage urgent cases for the hospital’s established client base, drawing on a strong foundation in general medicine and surgery. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating acute conditions, performing surgery when required, and collaborating closely with the experienced medical and support teams to ensure seamless patient care. The ideal candidate has one to two years of experience and is confident handling urgent cases. Opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, and advanced clinical training, including ultrasound and dentistry, are available for veterinarians eager to grow their skillset.
Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited hospital is equipped with a newly constructed dental suite, a standalone sterile surgical suite, and state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools. Diagnostic capabilities include digital radiography, ultrasound, EKG, pulse oximetry, blood pressure monitoring, in-house hematology and chemistry analyzers, in-house pancreatitis testing, and biopsy and histopathology laboratory services. Emergency and critical care tools include an oxygen chamber, IV fluid pumps and warmers, a heated water blanket, isolation and critical care ward, breathing ventilator, and CPR-trained staff. Surgical services encompass general and soft tissue procedures, spay and neuter, and electro-surgery with continuous anesthetic monitoring provided by certified veterinary technicians. Dental services include routine prophylaxis, digital dental radiography, periodontal surgery and extractions, and certified veterinary dental technicians. Additional services include wellness care, chronic disease management, dermatology, ophthalmology, rehabilitation, hospitalization and intensive care, behavioral consultations, boarding and bathing, and compassionate end-of-life services with a dedicated bereavement room.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
