Introduction
This feline-friendly urgent care practice in Mesa, Arizona is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join its team. The hospital bridges the gap between traditional general practice and emergency medicine, providing after-hours care for dogs and cats with conditions requiring prompt treatment but not overnight hospitalisation. The position is focused entirely on urgent care, with no routine wellness appointments and no abdominal surgeries.

Working Hours / Rota
The position offers a flexible schedule centred around swing and second-shift hours, reflecting the hospital’s after-hours urgent care model. Veterinarians work single-doctor shifts with a strong technical support team, with no overnight hospitalisation responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Urgent Care Veterinarian, you’ll manage a varied caseload of canine and feline patients presenting with concerns such as wounds, ear infections, vomiting, diarrhoea and other non-life-threatening urgent conditions, alongside end-of-life care when required. You’ll manage appointments and appropriate procedures during your shifts, collaborate closely with the clinical support team and build relationships with pet owners throughout the Mesa and wider Phoenix community. The practice follows a Fear Free approach, with individual mentorship and opportunities for collaboration with other veterinarians available.

The modern, paperless hospital has been purpose-designed specifically for urgent care and is recognised as a feline-friendly practice. Clinical resources include cloud-based electronic medical records, digital radiography and a comprehensive in-house laboratory, supporting efficient diagnosis and treatment during same-day and after-hours visits. The model is exclusively focused on urgent care rather than preventative wellness medicine, providing doctors with a concentrated caseload of acute presentations while being supported by an experienced technical team.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
