Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking to hire an urgent care veterinarian. This hospital sees cats and dogs and is looking for a veterinarian to join their team providing care in an urgent care setting.
Working Hours / Rota
The ideal schedule for this full-time position would be four weekdays with rotating Saturdays, and specific doctor hours remain open to discussion. The hospital’s opening hours are Monday and Friday through Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm and closed Tuesday through Thursday.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The urgent care veterinarian will provide top-notch medical care to clients’ furry family members with non-critical illnesses and injuries. As an urgent care hospital, the veterinarian will see patients with non-routine, non-critical illnesses and injuries including limps, GI upset, small wounds, urinary infections, torn nails, and more, and will perform diagnostic testing such as bloodwork and x-rays. This role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with some of the best technology, including but not limited to in-house digital x-ray, in-house Heska and Idexx lab machines, reference lab access, and fast-scan ultrasound, with a network of specialists available for collaboration on cases when necessary. Facilities include in-house Coag and Epoc tests in addition to chemistry and CBCs, cloud-based veterinary software, and a virtual waiting room to make record-keeping and client/patient visibility accessible.
Team
The team consists of a large DVM team and a large support team, fostering a collaborative environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
