Introduction
Our client is a modern veterinary clinic in Lexington, Kentucky, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its team, providing urgent care exclusively for canine and feline patients. This facility bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care, offering after-hours services for common urgent cases such as wound management, ear infections, gastrointestinal issues, and euthanasia—without the cost of full emergency clinic fees. Designed to deliver efficient and compassionate care, the clinic operates within a Fear Free, feline-friendly environment and is supported by a strong, experienced technical team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open every day of the year, including weekends and holidays, ensuring accessible care for the community. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on all holidays. This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling options, including swing and second shifts, designed to promote work-life balance while meeting client demand for after-hours veterinary care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will manage a variety of urgent cases, providing high-quality medical care in a fast-paced and supportive environment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating common urgent conditions, collaborating with the clinical team, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and the local community. The role involves no wellness appointments or abdominal surgeries, allowing veterinarians to focus exclusively on urgent care medicine. The clinic values teamwork, mentorship, and professional growth, supporting veterinarians through structured training and internal collaboration platforms.

Practice Details
The clinic is fully equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital radiography, ultrasound, and a complete suite of IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. As a paperless, brand-new, and purpose-built facility, it is designed for efficiency and comfort for both patients and staff. The practice maintains a Fear Free and feline-friendly approach, ensuring a calm and compassionate experience for all patients. The hospital is committed to providing affordable and accessible urgent care to the Lexington community, serving neighborhoods such as Wellington, Brannon Woods, Palomar, Gainesway, and Belleau Woods.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
