Introduction
A well-established, AAHA-accredited, six-doctor small animal hospital in Lacey, Washington is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join a highly capable and collaborative team. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys the pace and problem-solving of urgent care medicine, with the flexibility to incorporate general practice if desired. The role offers meaningful case involvement, strong technical support, and the ability to manage a wide range of urgent cases in-house.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, and is closed on Sundays. This role is structured around four 10-hour shifts per week, with Sunday coverage required and flexibility across other days. Weekend hours are expanding over time, creating opportunities for schedule evolution while maintaining consistency and clarity.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will manage same-day and urgent presentations ranging from moderate to higher-acuity cases, with clinical involvement aligned to individual comfort level. Typical cases include gastrointestinal disease, lameness, dermatologic conditions, toxicity, inappetence, ADRs, and otitis, alongside more advanced urgent presentations when appropriate. The hospital is well-equipped to manage complex cases in-house, including surgical emergencies such as GDVs, splenectomies, C-sections, and blood transfusions. Collaboration is readily available, and mentorship is ongoing, making this role suitable for both experienced urgent care clinicians and general practitioners looking to expand their urgent care skill set.

Practice Details
This is a high-functioning urgent care–capable general practice with the infrastructure and protocols to manage cases that might otherwise be referred to emergency hospitals. As an AAHA-accredited facility, the hospital is committed to evidence-based medicine, high clinical standards, and clear client communication. Advanced diagnostics and surgical capabilities allow veterinarians to provide comprehensive care without unnecessary referrals, supporting continuity of care for patients and clients.

Team
You will be joining a six-doctor veterinary team supported by an exceptionally strong technical staff, including seven licensed veterinary technicians. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
