Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing dedicated urgent care services and currently seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their team, with the opportunity to take on a Lead DVM role. This position is ideal for a veterinarian passionate about high-quality, fast-paced care and interested in guiding a clinical team in an emergency-focused environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm, on Saturday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, and on Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The role offers flexibility in terms of full-time or part-time scheduling, with consistent evening and weekend coverage required to support the nature of urgent care services.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This position focuses on urgent care cases, offering the chance to manage a wide range of clinical scenarios including gastrointestinal issues, trauma, respiratory symptoms, lameness, and allergic reactions. Responsibilities include diagnostics, treatment planning, minor surgery, wellness care, and end-of-life support. The role also includes leadership duties for those stepping into the Lead DVM position. This opportunity is open to experienced veterinarians who are confident in handling fast-paced clinical decision-making and mentoring a medical team.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with in-house diagnostics and X-ray capabilities and offers a wide array of services including emergency treatment, surgery, euthanasia, parasite screening, allergy management, and hospitalization. The caseload is diverse and often urgent, with a culture focused on community care, compassion, and efficiency supported by modern medical infrastructure.
Team
The team consists of three DVMs and a support staff committed to delivering collaborative, high-standard veterinary care. The environment fosters teamwork, leadership, and a shared dedication to serving pets and their families during urgent medical needs.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
