Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian on either a full-time or part-time basis. The hospital provides urgent care and general practice services for cats, dogs, and exotic pets, including reptiles, birds, and pocket pets. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to join a collaborative team focused exclusively on providing high-quality urgent care in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will focus exclusively on urgent care cases, providing immediate medical attention, diagnostics, and treatment for a diverse range of patients. The caseload includes stabilising sick and injured pets, wound care, gastrointestinal conditions, respiratory distress, pain management, and other non-life-threatening emergencies. The role also involves performing urgent surgical procedures including wound repairs, abscess drainage, and foreign body removals. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian who enjoys working in a collaborative environment while delivering exceptional urgent care.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 8:00pm, Sunday from 9:00am to 8:00pm, and is also open on major holidays from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The practice operates on an appointment-based urgent care model, allowing doctors to finish their scheduled shifts once appointments are complete, supporting a healthy work-life balance with flexible scheduling available. Services include wellness care, diagnostic care, pet surgery, dental care, laser therapy, puppy and kitten care, senior pet care, and exotic pet care. The hospital is the only urgent care provider in the local area specialising in exotic pets and provides care for reptiles, birds, and pocket pets alongside cats and dogs. The practice has built a collaborative culture focused on mentorship, professional development, and long-term career growth, while maintaining strong relationships within the local community.

Team
You will join a team of 10 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team. The hospital maintains an approximate 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio, with 13 licensed veterinary technicians, 4 veterinary assistants, and 7 client service representatives, creating a highly supportive environment where veterinarians can focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
