Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join its team on a full-time basis. The practice provides urgent and general veterinary care to cats, dogs, and exotic pets and is hiring an experienced veterinarian to focus exclusively on urgent care cases within a supportive, team-oriented hospital environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, including major holidays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The practice operates on an appointment-based urgent care model, with clients calling in to secure appointments.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will focus solely on urgent care cases, providing immediate medical assessment, diagnostics, and treatment for a diverse patient population that includes cats, dogs, and exotic pets. Clinical responsibilities include urgent case management, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and client communication. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is confident managing time-sensitive cases and delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced setting.
Practice Details
Founded in 2018, the hospital is the only urgent care provider in the Rochester area specializing in exotic pets and also offers general practice services. The practice maintains a strong reputation for patient care and client satisfaction and plays an active role in the local community through partnerships with shelters, rescues, and pet stores. Services offered include wellness care, diagnostic care, urgent care, surgical services, dental care, laser therapy, puppy and kitten care, senior pet care, and exotic pet care. The hospital culture emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, professional growth, and a family-oriented approach to veterinary medicine.
Team
The team consists of seven DVMs supported by a large and experienced support staff, including licensed technicians, veterinary assistants, and client service representatives, maintaining a 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio. The environment is close-knit, collaborative, and designed to support clinicians in delivering excellent patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
