Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time or part-time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their dedicated team in North Carolina’s beautiful Outer Banks region. In June 2023, the hospital expanded its services to include urgent care and is now looking for a veterinarian interested in supporting both weekend urgent care shifts and weekday primary care appointments, depending on full-time or part-time preference. With over three decades of serving the community, the hospital has built a reputation for veterinary excellence while maintaining a family-oriented approach to patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will work single-doctor urgent care shifts, seeing a variety of medical and surgical cases involving illnesses, injuries, and sickness presentations. The urgent care service operates Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, providing an opportunity to manage a diverse caseload within a supportive hospital environment. More critical patients requiring overnight care are referred to nearby 24-hour facilities, allowing the urgent care team to focus on same-day and non-critical emergency presentations. In addition to urgent care responsibilities, the position may also include weekday primary care shifts depending on the candidate’s interest in either a full-time or part-time schedule. This position is open to experienced doctors as well as new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is a 3-doctor practice offering wellness exams, surgery, and urgent care services. The hospital is fully equipped with in-house laboratories, digital radiographs, and a dedicated dental suite with digital dental radiography. The bright and airy facility features abundant natural light, creating a welcoming and comfortable working environment for both staff and clients. The hospital’s primary care hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, while urgent care services operate Friday through Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The hospital currently has 3 DVMs working together within a supportive and community-focused environment. The team is dedicated to maintaining a collaborative atmosphere while continuing to provide high-quality veterinary care to the local community.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
