Introduction
This dedicated urgent care hospital in Farmington, Utah is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join its clinical team. The practice bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency medicine, providing after-hours care exclusively for dogs and cats. The role offers a varied acute caseload without routine wellness appointments or the demands of overnight emergency medicine.

Working Hours / Rota
The position offers flexible scheduling across swing and second shifts, with single-doctor shifts supported by an experienced technical team. The hospital is focused exclusively on urgent care, with no overnight coverage required, allowing veterinarians to work within a more predictable alternative to a traditional emergency rota.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Urgent Care Veterinarian, you’ll manage a varied caseload of acute canine and feline presentations, including wound management, ear infections, gastrointestinal cases and end-of-life care. You’ll assess patients, perform diagnostic work-ups, develop treatment plans and carry out appropriate procedures and surgeries, with no abdominal surgery or routine wellness appointments. The role also involves collaborating closely with the clinical team, developing strong client relationships and supporting the continued development of support staff.

Practice Details
The hospital is a modern, paperless facility specifically designed for efficient urgent care medicine, with cloud-based electronic medical records, digital radiography and a full IDEXX in-house laboratory suite. The practice follows a Fear Free approach and is feline friendly, with veterinarians supported by a strong technical team throughout their shifts. The urgent care model provides exposure to interesting acute cases while avoiding routine preventative medicine, overnight shifts and hospitalisation.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
