Introduction
Our client is a hospital focused on emergency and urgent care, currently hiring for an Urgent Care Veterinarian with the opportunity to serve as Lead DVM. This facility provides immediate, high-quality medical care for companion animals and is seeking a veterinarian to take on both clinical and leadership responsibilities within a dedicated and mission-driven team.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday and Thursday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The position can accommodate full or partial day schedules to support flexibility and coverage across the week.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role centers on urgent care medicine with the chance to step into a leadership capacity as Lead DVM. The veterinarian will handle a wide variety of cases including emergencies, internal medicine, and minor surgical procedures. Clinical responsibilities involve diagnostics, treatment planning, and managing urgent presentations such as vomiting, diarrhea, pancreatitis, urinary issues, respiratory conditions, lameness, and allergic reactions. The role also includes providing euthanasia services, after-care, and occasional last-minute wellness appointments.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with in-house diagnostics and X-ray capabilities to support timely, effective treatment. Services span across urgent and emergency care, intestinal parasite screening, pet poison control, hospitalization, and wellness support. The practice prioritizes compassionate and cost-effective care, offering both routine and complex services to support patient well-being during urgent medical situations.
Team
The veterinary team consists of three DVMs working in a collaborative and efficient environment. The hospital fosters a culture of teamwork, communication, and clinical excellence, supported by a mission-focused approach to community care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
