Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary practice seeking an experienced Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their growing team in Bluffton, South Carolina, on either a full-time or part-time basis. The practice sees dogs, cats, avians, exotics, and ruminants and is expanding its services to introduce urgent care hours for pets and families requiring treatment outside the standard appointment window. This is an opportunity to join the practice as it develops its urgent care offering, with the successful veterinarian having meaningful input into how the service takes shape.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will provide same-day veterinary care for patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and other pressing medical needs. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical and surgical cases while helping establish workflows, protocols, and scheduling as the practice expands its urgent care hours. The veterinarian will build trusted relationships with clients and the Bluffton community while collaborating closely with the practice’s veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. This position is open to experienced veterinarians only.

Practice Details
The practice provides a full scope of general practice services alongside its developing urgent care offering, with a varied caseload that includes dogs, cats, avians, exotics, and ruminants. The expansion into urgent care is designed to provide greater access to veterinary treatment outside standard appointment hours, while giving the incoming veterinarian the opportunity to contribute directly to the development of the service. Current weekday opening hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Team
The practice has an experienced and growing DVM team supported by a great tenured team of veterinary technicians and support staff. The environment is collaborative, with veterinarians working alongside experienced team members while developing the practice’s expanded urgent care offering.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
