Our client is a modern animal hospital seeking a full-time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their team in the Providence, Rhode Island area. This hospital provides essential after-hours care for canine and feline patients, bridging the gap between daytime general practice and emergency clinics. The role offers an opportunity to focus exclusively on urgent care medicine in a modern, well-equipped facility with a supportive and collaborative team.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time / Part time position with a flexible swing or second-shift schedule, designed to support work-life balance. The clinic operates on an after-hours basis only, meaning there are no overnight or emergency shifts. The role focuses solely on urgent care cases, with no wellness appointments or abdominal surgeries, allowing veterinarians to dedicate their time to meaningful, immediate patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Urgent Care Veterinarian will manage a diverse caseload of common urgent cases such as wounds, minor injuries, ear infections, vomiting, diarrhea, and end-of-life care. Responsibilities include providing efficient, compassionate treatment, collaborating closely with the clinical team, and engaging with clients through a relationship-based approach. The veterinarian will also support the development of the technical team through the hospital’s internal LevelUp training program. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates who are passionate about urgent care medicine and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Practice Details
The hospital is a brand-new, modern facility purpose-built for urgent care, designed to optimize workflow and efficiency. It is fully equipped with digital radiography, limited ultrasound, and a complete IDEXX in-house laboratory suite, all integrated through cloud-based medical record software. The practice follows a Fear Free and Feline Friendly approach, ensuring patient comfort and reducing stress during visits. The clinic focuses solely on urgent care and does not handle wellness or preventive care appointments.

The clinic operates with a single-doctor model, supported by a strong technical team that provides exceptional assistance throughout each shift. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
