Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead a well-established small animal practice. The hospital is looking for an experienced veterinarian to provide medical leadership while continuing to spend the majority of their time in clinical practice. Established in 1996, the practice is known for delivering personalised, high-quality veterinary care and fostering strong relationships within the local community.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide medical leadership while continuing to practice clinical medicine for 90% of their time. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality medical and surgical care, overseeing associate veterinarians, ensuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine, and promoting exceptional client service. The role also involves fostering teamwork and collaboration, supporting staff development, partnering with the Hospital Manager on the financial performance and day-to-day operations of the hospital, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice. Candidates should be experienced veterinarians with strong leadership, communication, surgical, and diagnostic skills.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and is closed on Sundays. The practice is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, laboratory facilities, and an in-house pharmacy to support a wide range of diagnostic and treatment needs.
Services include wellness care, dentistry, surgical services, diagnostics, laboratory testing, digital X-rays, ultrasound, urgent care, nutrition, microchipping, pet boarding, pharmacy services, and end-of-life care. Founded in 1996, the hospital provides personalised veterinary care in a collaborative environment focused on teamwork, high-quality medicine, and exceptional client service. The Medical Director works closely with the Hospital Manager to support the hospital’s operations, financial performance, and continued growth.

Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs working within a supportive and collaborative environment focused on teamwork, leadership, and delivering high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
