Job Description

Introduction
A rare Partner Veterinarian opportunity is available in Billings, Montana, offering the chance to take the lead at an established small animal practice and become a genuine practice owner. Rather than starting from scratch, you will step into a successful hospital with an established client base, experienced support team and strong reputation within the community. This opportunity would particularly suit an experienced veterinarian who has been considering ownership and wants greater control over their clinical environment, team culture and long-term career while building on the foundations of an existing practice.

Working Hours / Rota
The practice currently operates Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 6:00pm and Friday from 7:30am to 1:00pm, with Saturdays and Sundays closed. The existing schedule therefore provides a particularly attractive work-life balance for a practice ownership opportunity, including a shorter Friday and no routine weekend opening. As the Partner Veterinarian, you will have meaningful input into how the hospital operates and develops over time, allowing you to shape a working environment that supports both excellent patient care and a sustainable lifestyle.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position combines hands-on small animal medicine with genuine practice leadership and ownership. You will provide high-quality care to an established caseload of approximately 60% dogs and 40% cats while helping determine the future direction of the hospital. Services currently include wellness and preventative medicine, vaccinations, dentistry, surgery, diagnostic imaging, in-house laboratory testing, senior pet care, nutritional counselling, microchipping and urgent and sick-pet appointments. Alongside clinical work, you will lead and develop the team, maintain strong relationships with clients, influence hospital culture and identify opportunities to strengthen and grow the practice. It is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional employed veterinarian position and have a direct stake in the practice you are helping to lead.

Practice Details
The hospital is a well-established small animal practice with two exam rooms, two surgery suites and a dedicated X-ray room, providing a strong existing platform for an incoming partner. You will inherit an experienced team of four full-time and two part-time employees, including several long-standing technicians, alongside an established and active client base. The hospital receives approximately 15 new clients each month, has a strong 4.7-star Google rating and continues to attract new business through client recommendations and its online reputation. The practice has demonstrated consistent revenue across recent years and is being offered as an established, operational veterinary business rather than a start-up opportunity, giving the incoming Partner Veterinarian the chance to concentrate on clinical leadership, team development and the next stage of the hospital’s growth.
