Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead a specialty and emergency team. This is a full-time position within a large, well-established hospital providing advanced care across a wide range of disciplines and treating a diverse caseload of companion and exotic animal patients.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, overseeing specialty and emergency veterinarians, interns, and residents while maintaining a focus on high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include managing medical services, supporting doctor recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance, and ensuring efficient and compassionate delivery of care. The position also involves overseeing workflows, scheduling, departmental communication, and contributing to financial performance, budgeting, and operational planning in partnership with hospital leadership. The Medical Director is responsible for fostering a collaborative and supportive culture, strengthening referral relationships, and addressing escalated client and patient care concerns. Doctor hours follow a full-time schedule aligned with hospital needs. This role is intended for experienced veterinarians with significant leadership experience.

Practice Details
The hospital operates with a full clinical schedule to support emergency and specialty services. The facility is AAHA accredited and equipped with advanced infrastructure including a state-of-the-art surgery, procedural, and anesthesia suite, a dedicated endoscopy and procedure room, and a centralized pre-operative area. Services offered include anesthesia and pain management, avian and exotics, cardiology, critical care, dentistry and oral surgery, dermatology, emergency medicine, integrative medicine, internal medicine, interventional radiology, medical oncology, neurology and neurosurgery, ophthalmology, radiation oncology, radiology, rehabilitation, sports medicine, surgery, and urgent care. The practice emphasizes high-quality patient care, collaboration, and a multidisciplinary clinical approach.

Team
The team consists of over 70 DVMs supported by a broad network of clinical and support staff, creating a highly collaborative and mentoring-focused environment with strong opportunities for professional growth and development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
