Introduction
Our client is a busy, well-equipped veterinary hospital in Iselin, New Jersey, currently hiring for a Medical Director. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to take on a key leadership role in a collaborative and well-supported environment, overseeing clinical quality and helping drive the hospital’s strategic direction.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position, though part-time scheduling may be available. The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The schedule is flexible with rotating Saturday coverage and no after-hours emergency duties, supported by a nearby 24-hour critical care facility.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing medical quality and patient care, setting strategic direction, and contributing to the hospital’s financial performance. Roughly 30% of the role involves leadership and administrative responsibilities, while the remaining 70% is clinical. Clinical duties focus on small animal medicine, with potential for exotic pet care. The role includes soft tissue surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and preventive care. This position is open to experienced veterinarians with strong leadership skills and a passion for mentoring and collaboration.

Practice Details
The hospital features newly refurbished exam rooms and treatment areas, and is equipped with digital radiology, dental radiology, ultrasound, echocardiography, tonopen, in-house laboratory and pharmacy, surgical suite, and isolation ward. Services provided span advanced care, general surgery, wellness and preventive medicine, diagnostics, pain management, and hospice care. The hospital maintains established partnerships with local shelters and K9 units, and utilizes hands-free radiology protocols for staff safety.

Team
The practice is currently supported by three doctors and a team of skilled assistants and support staff. The environment is collaborative, mentorship-driven, and focused on professional development, with an emphasis on providing high-quality, compassionate care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
