Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital hiring for a Medical Director Veterinarian. This is a well-established small animal practice with a long-standing history of delivering high-quality, comprehensive and preventative care, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to lead while remaining highly involved in clinical work.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the practice closed on weekends. The position offers flexibility with full-time or part-time options available.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will spend the majority of their time practicing medicine while also providing leadership and direction for the clinical team. Responsibilities include managing associate veterinarians, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of medical care and client service. You will work closely with the Hospital Manager to oversee hospital operations and financial performance, while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership skills and a passion for both clinical excellence and team development.

This is a long-established small animal hospital with a history dating back to 1925 and a strong reputation within the community. The practice is AAHA accredited and offers a comprehensive range of services including wellness care, dental care, surgical services, diagnostics, urgent care, end-of-life care, laboratory services, microchipping, nutrition, pharmacy, and pet boarding. The hospital emphasizes compassionate care, preventative medicine, and maintaining the highest standards in veterinary practice within a collaborative and supportive culture.
Team
The team consists of 2 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and team-oriented working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
