Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a small animal general practice hospital hiring for a Medical Director. The clinic provides comprehensive veterinary care with a focus on high-quality medicine across preventative, diagnostic, and advanced services.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the hospital closed on weekends. The role offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options available.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian. As Medical Director, responsibilities include leading the veterinary team, maintaining high standards of clinical care, and supporting the delivery of a wide range of services including dentistry, surgery, internal medicine, and advanced care. The role involves overseeing patient care, supporting team development, and ensuring strong client communication while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA accredited, reflecting a commitment to maintaining high standards of veterinary care. It also aligns with Feline Veterinary Medical Association principles, supporting excellence in feline medicine and creating a cat-friendly environment. Services include advanced care such as cardiology, dermatology, oncology, ophthalmology, and management of feline hyperthyroidism, alongside preventative care, diagnostics, dentistry, general surgery, internal medicine, and radiology. The clinic is equipped with an in-house pharmacy and offers a broad range of services designed to support patient health at every stage of life.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
