Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a Medical Lead Veterinarian. The practice is an AAHA-accredited hospital delivering both general practice and emergency and urgent care services and is seeking a full-time Medical Lead Veterinarian. The hospital treats companion animals and exotic species, including dogs, cats, reptiles, and amphibians.

Working Hours / Rota
Wellness appointments are offered Monday to Wednesday from 10:00am to 8:00pm and Thursday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Emergency and urgent care services operate seven days a week from 10:00am to 10:00pm. The position is full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Lead Veterinarian provides clinical leadership while delivering high-quality veterinary care across wellness, urgent, and emergency cases. Responsibilities include examining and diagnosing patients, directing treatment plans, performing surgical procedures, and supporting medical decision-making from intake through discharge. The role emphasizes client communication, collaboration with the paraprofessional team, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care. The position is intended for an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership capability and a commitment to clinical excellence.

Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA accredited and equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology to support both general practice and emergency medicine. Facilities include digital radiography, CT imaging, ultrasound, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory capable of performing bloodwork, urinalysis, clotting times, blood gases, and infectious disease testing. Services offered include wellness and preventive care, vaccinations, spay and neuter, senior and geriatric care, puppy and kitten care, exotic pet care, urgent and emergency services, dentistry, and soft-tissue, dental, ophthalmic, and foreign body surgical procedures. The practice culture emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and high medical standards.

Team
The hospital team includes five DVMs working in a collaborative and supportive environment that prioritizes mentorship, professional development, and shared medical leadership.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
