Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an established small animal hospital in Walnutport, PA, seeking an experienced Veterinarian to lead the practice as Medical Director. This position is ideal for a dedicated leader who will spend the majority of their time practicing medicine while overseeing the hospital’s medical standards, supporting associate veterinarians, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide medical leadership for the hospital, manage associate veterinarians, and ensure regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include practicing high-quality, progressive, individualized medical care, advancing medical standards, creating a collaborative work environment, leading staff and practice operations, driving revenue, and supporting practice growth.

The hospital delivers progressive, individualized patient care supported by advanced medical and diagnostic capabilities. Services offered include wellness care, dental care, surgical services, exotic pet services, pet boarding, grooming, diagnostics, end of life care, laboratory services, microchipping, nutritional guidance, a pharmacy, and urgent care. The practice culture emphasizes modern medicine, compassionate care, and maintaining high standards for patient wellbeing.
Team
The hospital has two DVMs working alongside an experienced support team. The environment is collaborative and team-focused, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a supportive and positive workplace for both staff and clients.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
