Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Emergency Medical Director Veterinarian. This is a busy emergency and critical care hospital providing emergency services 365 days a year and is seeking an experienced emergency clinician with a passion for leadership to help guide, grow, and elevate the emergency medicine service while continuing hands-on clinical work.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital provides emergency coverage year-round. Operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 12:00 am–7:00 am and 5:00 pm–12:00 am, with 24-hour coverage Friday through Sunday. The role is available on a full-time, part-time, or relief basis, offering flexibility depending on availability and leadership interest.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position is open to experienced veterinarians only, ideally with a strong background in emergency medicine. Clinical responsibilities include comprehensive emergency patient examinations, diagnostics, medical and surgical treatment, client communication, accurate medical record keeping, and pharmacy responsibilities in accordance with controlled substance regulations. The Emergency Medical Director component includes partnering with hospital leadership to oversee emergency protocols, monitor standards of care from intake to discharge, promote teamwork and staff efficiency, and participate in practice management initiatives and ongoing training. The role offers the opportunity to help elevate medical standards and contribute to the continued growth of the emergency service, with an annual medical director stipend available.

Practice Details
The hospital operates as a dedicated emergency and critical care practice, delivering urgent and life-saving care to companion animals throughout the year. Services include emergency medicine, critical care, diagnostics, and surgery, with surgical competency required but orthopedic procedures not mandatory. The practice is described as busy, organized, and efficient, with a strong operational structure and a leadership team deeply invested in emergency medicine. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
