Introduction
Our client is a brand-new, full-service small animal hospital seeking a Full-Time Medical Director to join its team. Caring for cats and dogs, this is an opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to take on a hands-on clinical leadership position within a completely new veterinary hospital.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Medical Director will be responsible for providing exceptional medical, surgical, and preventative care while leading the hospital’s clinical team and maintaining high standards of veterinary medicine. Clinical responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and performing routine and advanced surgical and dental procedures based on experience.
Alongside their clinical responsibilities, the Medical Director will mentor and support veterinarians, promote clinical excellence through training and case collaboration, ensure compliance with medical protocols and regulatory standards, and drive quality improvement initiatives. Working closely with hospital leadership, they will help enhance patient outcomes, client satisfaction, and overall hospital performance while fostering a positive and collaborative culture. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is comfortable balancing hands-on clinical practice with leadership and strategic oversight.

Practice Details
This is a brand-new, full-service veterinary hospital currently being built from the ground up. The facility will provide diagnostic, dental, medical, and surgical care, with services encompassing routine examinations, wellness and preventative medicine, vaccinations, diagnostic care, dentistry, and surgical procedures.
As a completely new hospital, the opening hours are yet to be decided. Veterinarian-led medical decision-making will form part of the hospital’s approach, with the incoming veterinary leadership team having the opportunity to help establish the hospital’s culture from its opening.

Team
The DVM team is currently being built as part of the opening of this brand-new hospital. Incoming veterinarians will have the opportunity to join the practice from day one and play an active role in shaping the culture of the new team as it is established.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
