Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a Medical Director position. This is a full-service small animal hospital that is AAHA-accredited, reflecting its commitment to the highest standards of veterinary medicine, patient care, and safety. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinary leader to guide medical standards, mentor associate veterinarians, and support the overall success of the practice while continuing to practice clinically.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The role is available on a full-time or part-time basis. Emergency and urgent care services are provided during regular hospital hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role is open to experienced veterinarians only. The Medical Director is responsible for maintaining high-quality, progressive veterinary care while overseeing medical standards, quality of care, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include mentoring and managing associate veterinarians, developing and enforcing medical policies, conducting regular doctor meetings, and promoting a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The Medical Director also partners with hospital leadership on financial health, budgeting for equipment, inventory decisions, and operational oversight. In addition to leadership duties, the role includes active clinical practice, handling patient care, client communication, medical record review, controlled drug management, and addressing client, patient, and referral partner concerns.

The practice offers comprehensive medical and surgical services under one roof, including routine and preventive care, internal medicine, geriatrics, dentistry, complex and orthopedic surgery, oncology, rehabilitation services, cold laser therapy, and urgent and emergency care during regular hours. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
