Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a veterinary hospital and is hiring for a Veterinary Medical Director. The practice is a full-service small animal clinic providing comprehensive medical, surgical, dental, wellness, and urgent care services.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 6:00pm, Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 8:30am to 1:00pm. The position is full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Medical Director leads the hospital’s medical team while continuing to practice hands-on veterinary medicine. Clinical responsibilities include routine and advanced surgery, interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory results, wellness and sick patient care, urgent care, pain management, dentistry, and client education. Leadership responsibilities include overseeing daily medical operations, developing and implementing medical protocols, mentoring and supporting DVMs, promoting teamwork and accountability, and upholding high standards of medical quality. The role is suited to an experienced veterinarian with surgical experience and a collaborative, compassionate approach.

Practice Details
The hospital is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with ultrasound, digital radiology, and in-house laboratory equipment. Services offered include wellness care and exams, vaccinations, illness and injury care, diagnostics and imaging, spay and neuter, parasite prevention, deworming, pet surgery, nutrition and diet counseling, pain management, and urgent care. The practice supports a ready surgical caseload and emphasizes medical autonomy, progressive medicine, and a positive, collaborative clinic culture.

Team
The veterinary team consists of two DVMs supported by a collaborative and engaged support staff. The environment emphasizes mentorship, teamwork, and shared responsibility for delivering high-quality patient care and client service.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
