Introduction
Our client is a practice hiring a full-time Medical Director to lead a brand-new small animal hospital focused on caring for dogs and cats. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to shape a new hospital from the ground up while balancing clinical excellence, mentorship, and leadership responsibilities within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead and mentor a team of veterinarians and support staff while establishing high medical and ethical standards across the hospital. Responsibilities include developing workflows, protocols, and team culture for the new hospital, while also maintaining an active clinical role providing high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with hospital leadership, operations partners, nearby sister hospitals, and specialists within the network to ensure exceptional client and patient care. This opportunity is suited to experienced veterinarians with leadership ambitions and a passion for building a positive hospital culture.

Practice Details
This brand-new small animal practice is scheduled to open in Spring 2026 and is being designed with modern veterinary medicine and team efficiency in mind. The hospital will feature new equipment, thoughtfully designed treatment and exam spaces, and a strong technician-to-doctor support model. The Medical Director will also have the opportunity to influence equipment selection and hospital protocols before opening. The practice promotes a collaborative culture focused on mentorship, leadership development, and work-life balance. The hospital is supported by a broader veterinary network that provides access to specialists, continuing education opportunities, and leadership resources while maintaining the feel of a locally driven practice.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
