Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to join their team. This is a full-service general practice hospital serving cats and dogs, and they are looking for an experienced veterinarian with at least three years of clinical experience to lead their practice.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 7:00pm, Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm. The hospital is closed on Sundays. Doctor hours are open to discussion, and this position is offered on a full-time basis.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian role combines both clinical and leadership responsibilities. The hospital provides a full-service general practice caseload, and the Medical Director will oversee both patient care and the leadership of the veterinary team.

Practice Details
The hospital is well equipped and has recently moved into a new state-of-the-art location in Sterling Heights, MI. The facility includes an excellent layout with separate surgical and dental suites, an ICU, an isolation room, and a lobby with both cat and dog waiting rooms. The hospital also has an in-house laboratory, digital radiology, ultrasound, laser therapy, and more. The hospital is AAHA accredited and provides full-service general practice care.

Team
The hospital currently has four DVMs and a great support team. The environment is designed to be collaborative, with the team working together to provide high-quality care.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
