Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Lead Veterinarian to join a full-service small animal practice. The hospital provides care for dogs and cats and is an AAHA-accredited clinic, offering an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian looking to step into a leadership role while continuing to practice high-quality medicine within a collaborative and well-established team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operated Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm. It is open from 7am to 12pm on Saturday and closed on Sunday. This is a full-time position and flexible scheduling options are available.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, allowing the Medical Lead Veterinarian to both deliver high-quality patient care and guide the medical direction of the hospital. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, leading performance discussions, and fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and medical excellence. The role also involves partnering with the Practice Manager to support hospital performance, leading doctor meetings, and contributing to operational planning. Clinically, the position includes delivering comprehensive care across wellness, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.

Practice Details
The hospital is a full-service, AAHA-accredited small animal practice with Cat Friendly Practice status, designed to create a low-stress environment for patients and an efficient workflow for the team. It is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology including laparoscopy, digital imaging, ultrasound, advanced dental equipment, a comprehensive in-house laboratory, in-house orthopedic surgery capabilities, and laser therapy, with access to endoscopy at a sister hospital. Services include wellness and preventive care, senior wellness, puppy and kitten care, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, vaccinations, spay and neuter, microchipping, treatment and therapy, and referral services. The hospital emphasizes high-quality medicine, strong client relationships, and continuous professional development within a collaborative, growth-focused culture.

Team
The practice consists of four DVMs supported by a 3:1 technician-to-doctor ratio, with dedicated assistants assigned to each doctor. The team environment is collaborative, efficient, and strongly focused on mentorship, professional development, and leadership growth.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
