Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Medical Director to join their team. The hospital provides care for cats, dogs, and exotic companion animals, including birds, amphibians, reptiles, rabbits, and ferrets, offering a varied caseload for an experienced veterinarian looking to combine clinical practice with leadership responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role combines the full scope of general practice responsibilities with leadership duties. Clinical responsibilities include wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, and providing high-quality care across both companion animals and exotic species. The successful candidate will also provide leadership and support to the clinical team while helping to maintain excellent standards of patient care and client service.

Practice Details
The hospital has been dedicated to providing the highest quality care to patients in the Detroit area since 1953. It is well equipped and offers the full scope of GP services, including wellness, preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, and laser therapy. The hospital is open Monday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Tuesday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Wednesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Thursday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The hospital is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Team
The team consists of three DVMs supported by a great team of support staff.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
