Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to join their team, providing care for small animals within a busy, community-focused practice known for delivering high-quality veterinary care and strong client relationships.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays, with no after-hours on-call requirements and a flexible schedule.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will combine clinical duties with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high standards of patient care while supporting the overall operation of the hospital. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient exams, diagnostics, and surgery, as well as maintaining accurate medical records and communicating effectively with clients. The role also involves overseeing medical protocols, promoting teamwork and efficiency, monitoring cases and hospital workflows, and working closely with hospital leadership on priorities and performance. The Medical Director will mentor and support the team while contributing to a collaborative and positive culture. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
This is a well-established small animal practice with a strong, loyal client base and a collaborative, hometown atmosphere. The hospital is equipped with an advanced diagnostic lab, on-site pharmacy, CO2 surgical laser, and a well-equipped surgical suite with multi-parameter monitoring. Services offered include routine exams, vaccinations and prevention, internal medicine, dental care, geriatric care, puppy and kitten care, emergency care, and a wide range of surgical procedures including soft tissue surgery, spaying and neutering, C-sections, ocular procedures, mass removal, foreign body surgery, wound care, orthopedic surgery, and dental surgery. The practice emphasizes high-quality medicine, strong client communication, and a supportive, team-driven culture.

Team
The hospital has 1 DVM and a great tenured support team, with a collaborative environment and a 2:1 staff-to-DVM ratio.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
