Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a board-certified Criticalist to take on the role of Medical Director at their AAHA-accredited, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital. This 27,000 sq ft facility fosters strong, collaborative relationships with several co-located specialty practices.
Working Hours / Rota
This leadership role offers flexibility, with both full-time and part-time availability considered.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead the hospital’s medical team while practicing as a specialist in critical care. Responsibilities include delivering high-level patient care, mentoring clinicians, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and helping to shape clinical protocols and hospital strategy. The successful candidate will work alongside a diverse team of specialists in emergency, internal medicine, radiology, neurology/neurosurgery, cardiology, dentistry/oral surgery, ophthalmology, surgery, medical oncology, dermatology, radiation oncology, and rehabilitation.
Practice Details
The hospital operates out of a 27,000 sq ft, AAHA-accredited facility and is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including an in-house lab, Doppler, ultrasound, ventilators, telemetry, spiral CT, MRI, and a linear accelerator. The caseload is diverse and complex, reflecting the hospital’s role as a regional referral center. The culture is collaborative and collegial, supported by access to a network of specialists and close working relationships with other specialty practices within the center.

The hospital team includes a wide range of specialists and is co-located with several independently owned specialty practices. The environment is supportive and highly collaborative, with a focus on teamwork and mutual respect across disciplines.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
