Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to join and lead their companion animal practice. The hospital provides veterinary care for dogs and cats and is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality medicine in a supportive and collaborative clinical environment. This role is a hybrid position combining clinical practice with leadership responsibilities and is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about guiding medical standards while continuing to practice hands-on veterinary medicine.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is a full-time position. Hospital hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian will work primarily as a practicing veterinarian while supporting the clinical team through leadership and mentorship. Responsibilities include performing wellness exams, diagnostics, dentistry procedures, and surgical services such as spays, neuters, and select mass removals. The role also includes mentoring newer veterinarians, guiding medical standards, and partnering with hospital leadership to support team development and maintain strong clinical protocols. The Medical Director will help lead the hospital team through daily caseloads, support client communication, and ensure high-quality patient care. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital has served the local community since 1977, providing long-standing veterinary care for dogs and cats. Services offered include wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, microchipping, health screenings, nutrition and behavior support, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, house calls, and urgent care. The hospital is equipped with in-house laboratory testing, digital X-rays, and ultrasound, allowing veterinarians to evaluate cases efficiently and deliver timely treatment. The practice focuses on building lasting relationships with clients while delivering thoughtful, attentive care tailored to each pet.

Team
The hospital has 6 DVMs and a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative environment where experienced veterinarians and staff work closely together to provide consistent, high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
